PRIVACY POLICY

Client information – Data Protection

Under the data protection legislation in force and for the purpose of my commercial relationship, subject to contract, with JBP relating to insurance brokerage, more specifically the treatment of data, I confirm that I have been informed that: 

 

a) James Bruce Player, Seguros Lda., with tax identification number 503199605 and registered office at Rua 5 de Outubro, nº 181 - 8135-102 Almancil is the Controller of its clients’ personal data.


b) Clients always have the right to request the Controller to give them access to their data and to rectify their data, if necessary. Clients have the right to be informed how their data are processed. Clients have the right to object to and to restrict the processing of their data. 


c) JBP informs its clients about periodically available promotional campaigns for products already taken out using these means of communication: email, telephone messages, apps, or in person.


d) JBP is committed to keeping the personal data it requests from its clients confidential. It therefore will always adopt the necessary technical and organisational measures to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ensuring that the data processing is lawful, fair, transparent and limited to the legal purpose of the contract. JBP adopts appropriate measures to ensure the integrity of the data requested from its clients and the privacy of its data subjects. 


e) JBP is committed to the Confidentiality of the personal data requested from its customers, which is why the necessary technical and organizational measures will always be taken to comply with the Regulation, guaranteeing that the processing of data is lawful, loyal, transparent and limited to the legal purpose of the hiring. JBP adopts appropriate measures to ensure the integrity of the data requested from customers, as well as the privacy of their holders;

g) James Bruce Player, Seguros Lda., is the processor for the following companies:

  • In the non-life sector: Victoria; Allianz, Lusitânia; Ageas; Seguradoras Unidas; IBEX Insurance; ALC; HISCOX; Abbygate, AXA Global Health Care, Status Global Insurance, and INTASURE; 
  • In the life sector: Prévoir, Victória, Lusitânia, Ageas, Seguradoras Unidas, and MetLife. 


h) JBP processes personal data for the purposes needed to provide quotations, make simulations, take out insurance, perform insurance contracts, and manage the claims settlement of any of the above insurance companies. 


i) Within the scope of the contracted insurance, and in accordance with its specific details, JBP may transfer data to countries of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and third countries to fulfil the legal purpose of the contract and in the data subject’s interest. 


j) Páginas Amarelas, S.A. hosts the website www.jimplayer.pt. It is also responsible for managing and maintaining the website. The Cookies Policy, which is also the responsibility of Páginas Amarelas S.A., can be consulted here. Páginas Amarelas S.A.’s Privacy Policy can be consulted here (only available in Portuguese). 


k) Páginas Amarelas, S.A.’s core information server is hosted in a private cloud of a domestic provider in Portugal. The information hosted in the public cloud is located in the European Union. The information is stored in databases, proprietary file shares hosted in the Data Centre with incremental daily backups and full weekly backups


l) The data collected on the site are received only at the email address info@jimplayer.pt

  • the data requested for health insurance are first name, surname, national ID card/passport number, date of birth, sex, email, telephone number, address in Portugal, postal code, type of required health insurance (medical insurance, medical insurance with free choice of doctors, reimbursement system);
  • the data requested for home insurance include information about the owners (name, Portuguese tax number or NIF, place of risk, correspondence address, date of birth, telephone, and email), information about the property (flat or villa), year of construction, type of construction (non-flammable/cement, flammable/wood, mixed), reconstruction value, contents value, area of construction, electrical risks, type of dwelling (holiday or permanent home), protection (alarm/reinforced door/window bars/video entry system or permanent surveillance);
  • the data requested for life insurance include the persons insured (name, Portuguese tax number or NIF, profession, address, date of birth, telephone and email), capital amount to be insured and cover (death or invalidity);
  • the data requested for vehicle insurance include the owner (name, surname, Portuguese tax number or NIF, date of birth, telephone number, email, date of driving licence, nationality, national ID number/passport number, address, city, postal code), the vehicle (make, model, engine capacity, fuel type, date of first registration, registration number); types of cover (compulsory third-party or civil liability insurance/third-party and glass cover only/own damage/vehicle value);
  • the data requested for boat insurance include the owner (name, surname, Portuguese tax number or NIF, date of birth, telephone number, email, date of driving licence, nationality, national ID card/passport number, address, city, postal code), the vessel (date of commencement of contract, type of vessel (light sailboat/classic sailboat/motorboat/catamaran/semi-rigid or inflatable/jet-ski), name of the vessel, registration, make, model, year of construction, hull material (fibre/aluminium/steel/iron/wood), navigation area (coastal waters, mainland Portugal and its navigable inland waters/coastal waters, mainland Portugal and the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores/coastal waters, mainland Portugal and Spain/coastal waters, mainland Portugal and the Mediterranean Sea up to 35º E longitude, excluding the coast of Libya); value of third-party or civil liability).


m) James Bruce Player, Seguros Lda., has the following processors: 

  • ‘Moneris’ (accounting firm that has access to the client’s given name).
  • ‘LIBAX’ (Management software, property of HJRG - Consultoria Informática, Unip., Lda., which has remote access to the invoicing program).
  • Bruno Brito, IT technician, in his personal capacity for computer management maintenance that includes managing the company’s server. This subcontractor has remote access to all company data encrypted on the server.
  • Miguel Vandjik – sole proprietor responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, Google My Business). The Controller and its manager may use these social networks to create restricted work lists and information distribution lists. We point out that the account owner is responsible for providing photographs, names and contacts on these social networks;
  • WhatsApp Business – the Controller may use this social network to create restricted work lists and information distribution lists.
