Information for Compulsory Disclosure – Insurance Agent

1.1 JAMES BRUCE PLAYER SEGUROS, LDA is an insurance broking firm that was established in 1990 and has been registered since 3 September 2007 at ASF - Autoridade de Supervisão de Seguros e Fundos de Pensões (Portuguese Supervisory Authority for Insurance and Pension Funds) in the category of Insurance Agents, under no. 407167558. It is authorised to operate in the Life and NonLife Sectors, which can be verified at www.asf.com.pt. The firm’s share capital is €10,000.00 and it is registered at the Loulé Commercial Registry under legal entity no. 503199605

1.3 JAMES BRUCE PLAYER, LDA has no direct or indirect participating interest in the capital of any insurance company. 


1.4 All insurers with which JAMES BRUCE PLAYER, LDA works duly authorise it to receive premiums from policyholders for the payment of their insurance. 


1.5 By law, JAMES BRUCE PLAYER, LDA has the specific duty to provide a value-added, reliable and proper service. It must aim to advise its clients in choosing the best product suited to each of their needs, in an unbiased and even-handed manner in relation to the insurance companies that are its business partners. Its administrative and commercial structure constantly supports clients for the duration of their contracts, providing complete assistance in clarifying matters and resolving complaints. 


1.6 Clients may request and receive information from JAMES BRUCE PLAYER, LD A about the payments it receives for the contracts under which it provides brokerage services. 


1.7 JAMES BRUCE PLAYER, LDA keeps a complaints book by law. Policyholders or other interested parties referred to in the insurance contracts for which it provides assistance, may enter any complaint they wish to make in this book or address their complaint to the Portuguese Supervisory Authority for Insurance and Pension Funds. 


1.8 Without affecting their right to still go to court, policyholders and other interested parties in insurance contracts who have a dispute with JAMES BRUCE PLAYER, LDA relating to its insurance broking activity that can be settled out of court, may approach an alternative dispute resolution body for consumer disputes, namely CIMPAS (the Insurance Information, Mediation, Ombudsman and Arbitration Centre), as follows:
